Dr Shi Xu named Businessman of the Year

Dr Shi Xu, Founder and Executive Chairman of Nanofilm Technologies International Limited, was named Businessman of the Year at the 36th Singapore Business Awards. The awards ceremony was held at The Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong, was the guest of honor and presented the awards.

The Singapore Business Awards is jointly organized by The Business Times, a business daily published by SPH Media Limited, and DHL, the global market leader of the international express and logistics industry.

Dr Shi was recognized for his success in propelling Nanofilm’s technology from lab to marketplace, he had spearheaded the research behind Nanofilm’s Filtered Cathodic Vacuum Arc (“FCVA”) technology when he was a professor at Nanyang Technological University.

Nanofilm’s nanotechnology-based solutions are utilized in a wide range of industries such as computer, communications and consumer electronics (“3C”), automotive, precision engineering, printing and imaging, and new energy.
